Originally developed as a tribute to Gale's close association with all who sail the sea, Seafarers ale is brewed to 3.6% ABV and is a delicious thirst quenching ale. It has a blend of the finest quality English malt, Admiral hops and the unique Gales yeast.
Trelawny ale is made usually locally grown Cornish barley slowly roasted and blended with Galaxy hops specially imported from South Australia, which gives the ale its distinctive smell and taste. With aromas of peach, apricot, butterscotch and toffee apple and the full taste of toasted biscuit and jam, this ale is balanced by the mellow but assertive bitterness of the tangy hops.
Potton Brewerys Shannon IPA recently won the bronze award in the Bitter category of the Champion Beer of Britain. At 3.6% ABV this traditional style IPA is well balanced with a good bitterness and a fruity late hop character.

The Official Ghost Brew of All Hallows, Spooks Ale offers a rich and spicy taste, with a fruity and biscuity aroma. At 4.7% ABV, this ale is full of flavour and has a glorious deep, red hue, and is the perfect bridge between the light summer ales and the richness of the winter beers.
The well known and popular ale Spitfire will also be on offer during our Beer Festival. Spitfire was originally brewed to commemorate the 50th anniversary of the Battle of Britain, but it's hoppy flavour has made this ale a firm favourite with beer lovers. It is Shepherd Neame's biggest selling cask conditioned ale and is the winner of a gold medal and Best Strong Cask-Conditioned Beer of the World at the Brewing Industry International Awards.
The final ale on offer will be a one-off special. Shepherd Neame have specially brewed an ale for the beer festivals and named it Buccaneer. The only thing we know of this ale at the moment is its 5% ABV. Any more information we can get on this special ale will be posted here.
As a special treat we will also have Thatchers Heritage Cider.
Heritage is a popular, traditional cider. It really looks and tastes like a 'proper cider' but you'll find it's light touch and balanced flavours offer a drink that appeals to all corners.
The beer festival begins on Thursday 27th October and will continue until there is no beer left!
Make sure you don't miss it! They won't be around for long!
